Rua Monte da CaliforniaComing from the (Loule, Faro) South Algarve take the N2 direction to Almodovar. At Dogueno turn right at the sign to  Santa Cruz.  Then take the first right signed California. If you are coming from Santa Cruz you can take directions to Dogueno and on the left you will see the sign to California. If you arrive  in Dogueno when coming from Santa Cruz then you have gone too far. It is 3 km from the California sign to the farm which has Blue gates and a large wood shed near the gates. Using Google Maps enter Rua Monte da California or type in "Essential Awareness" and it will show our location. An alternative turn when coming from Santa Cruz is to take the first left after Monte Do Romba. Turn at the sign to Cascalheira. After about 200 meters take the right fork signed to California. Follow the bumpy road down hill for a few kilometres until you find the blue gates on the left and the wood shed next to them. Do not turn right before your reach the gates as there is a turn to Monte Novo. That is a wrong turn!
